Attorney Hill was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. These early formative experiences created the background for the practice of law for Jubilee. These experiences include witnessing and experiencing police brutality, the lingering effects of poverty and systemic injustice, and being on the receiving end of unfairness within the legal system. Despite growing up in what was considered to be the most incarcerated zip code in the United States, he stands as a mentor to other young men as an example of the possibilities one can achieve.

He is married to Rev. Dr. Shazetta Thompson-Hill and they are the parents of two sons — Isaac and Alexander.

Attorney Hill has been active in ministry for over twenty-five years. He publicly acknowledged a call to ministry in 1996, while he was a sophomore in high school. He was licensed as a minister in 1998, during his freshman year at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. He was ordained as in elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in July 2002, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Lane College.

His ministry journey has afforded him to walk with and provide leadership for several congregations in Tennessee, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Texas.

Attorney Hill is an interdisciplinary scholar which informs the way he practices in the legal profession.

He has earned the Master of Divinity degree and Master of Theological Studies degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. The concentration of his studies was on church history and theology with a focus on liberation theology.

He also has a Master of Education with a concentration in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago. His concentrations were on comparative educational policy and sociology of education initiatives.

Attorney Hill received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. His law school studies focused on civil rights litigation and legislation, juvenile law issues, and business planning.

He is currently licensed to practice in:

Attorney Hill continues to be motivated to create policy and practice change at local, regional, and national levels. The call to activism came to the surface while witnessing social disruptions when he was in law school.

There were several moments in response to the cries of the community that Attorney Hill sought to discover ways he could utilize his education, interests, and skills to help others in his community. Activism and advocacy becomes the framework for bringing together intellectual and spiritual resources to seek policy changes.
